Cafe Jallal is the newest creation of Gil Ron Shama, Israeli musician and co-founder of the first Israeli-Palestinian world music band, Sheva.
Ron Shama presents a new project joining the desert with the urban world in a melodious dish including Palestinian, Bedouin, and Jewish- and Arab-Israeli sacred chants ranging from traditional to renewed.

Cafe Jallal is a real yet imagined space present in modern Israeli-Palestinian society, home to joyous hafla dancing, the captivating trills of Khaliji and Bedouin music, the soul longing of Hebrew prayer, celebrating traditions and voicing universally deep intentions for peace.

A major part of Gil’s life-work is to open the gate to the secrets that will lead people above and behind the narrow-minded existence of “ME” , into the open space of “US”.

Gil Ron Shama is the co-founder of the Israeli world-known ensemble- ‘Sheva’, that won the Best Live Album of the Year Award for the 2006 IMA competition, as well as other appraised music ensembles.

Gil was appointed as a cultural ambassador of goodwill on behalf of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Muslim countries, and was given an honor membership in several Sufi’s fraternities.
